Work Experience Program

518 ElevatED has partnered with National Grid through its Grid for Good Workforce Experience program. Grid for Good connects young people and work-ready adults with training and job opportunities in the energy industry. 

Through this partnership college students and work ready adults (18+) from around the Capital Region can apply and be selected for an 6-month career exploration program exploring career pathways and skill development. The program will run from February to June. Priority will be given to those with interest, experience, or backgrounds in engineering, electrical engineering, or sustainable energy. Participants can earn a $1,000 stipend upon completion, with an optional $500 available for job-seeking expenses like professional attire and help with transportation.

Grid for Good has been making a positive impact in underserved communities. This flagship program, led by National Grid, provides training and employment opportunities for young people. 

Grid for Good works closely with local partners to access a diverse range of talented people creating a pipeline of skilled employees into the workforce.  

To date, Grid for Good has helped over 3,000 people and have over 1,000 National Grid employees registered as volunteers.
